Support Groups Currently Offered

Firefly Counseling Services, P.C. is dedicated to providing support not only to the clients and families we serve individually but to the entire community. We offer a variety of support groups and update our programs regularly depending upon need. We welcome feedback directly about programming currently being offered and future programs in need of development.

Current support groups:


Therapeutic Yoga for Adults: Mind/Body Approach to Mental Health Treatment: This group is designed for adults interested in pursuing yoga as a holistic treatment option for addressing stress, anxiety, depression or other concerns. 


Women's Connection: A group specifically designed for adult women to address anxiety, depression and relationship issues in a warm and welcoming environment. (Ages 20+)


Caregiver Compassion Support Group: Caregivers of special needs children spend endless time, energy, patience and compassion caring for their special needs child. Join the Caregiver Compassion Support Group to develop strong connections with other parents, increase resource building and effective skills for stress management.


Time for Teens a Grief and Loss Support Group: Time for teens is a group designed to allow teens the opportunity to grieve by offering a meaningful group interaction with peers. The group is designed for teens following the death of a family member or loved one. (Ages 13-17 years)


Hope Stretches Children's Yoga Program: Hope Stretches is an evidenced based program that incorporates animal assisted human health, children's yoga and expressive therapies in a unique practice. Topics for groups are posted on the program page. 


Teen Pride: This group welcomes lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender non-conforming identifying teens. Join a safe, confidential and welcoming space to discuss issues related to LGBTQ identities.


DBT Skills Group for Adolescents and Adults:  DBT skills groups include four sets of behavioral skills.

  • Mindfulness: The practice of being fully aware and present in the moment
  • Emotional Regulation: How to change emotions that you want to change
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: How to ask for what you want and say no while maintaining self-respect and relationships with others
  • Distress Tolerance: How to tolerage pain in difficult situations, not change it.
